The Medicaid Policy Center (MPC) is dedicated to advancing the quality and cost effectiveness — and long-term sustainability — of the New Jersey Medicaid program to improve the health and wellness of New Jersey residents.
The MPC delivers independent research, analysis and policy solutions to improve health outcomes while also controlling costs — and works in partnership with other organizations and the state government agencies that operate the New Jersey Medicaid program.
The new center benefits from the Quality Institute’s tradition of bringing people from all corners of health care together to collaborate on innovative solutions to improve the state’s health care system.
Total New Jersey Medicaid beneficiaries = 1,697,501
Hackensack Meridian Health, in partnership with the VNA, the New Jersey Medicaid Program, and the Quality Institute, recently received a $15.8 million award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to implement a new payment model to improve care for pediatric patients with complex medical conditions. The award will be distributed over seven years to establish the New Jersey Integrated Care for Kids (InCK) Model that will test an Alternative Payment Model (APM) for the Medicaid program supporting multi-sectoral integrated case management and pediatric practice capacity-building in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The Medicaid Policy Center and the Quality Institute are very excited to work with our member organizations and the New Jersey Medicaid Program to implement this new payment model and to make a difference in children’s lives.
