The Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) is a statewide community health initiative that provides evidence-based tools and strategies for mayors and community leaders to help their residents achieve healthier lifestyles and to improve overall health and wellness in their communities. The New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute has been leading the Mayors Wellness Campaign in partnership with the New Jersey State League of Municipalities for over 12 years. The campaign includes over 400 participating communities, and is growing.

Join The Mayors Wellness Campaign
As Mayor of my community I pledge to work cooperatively with the Mayors Wellness Campaign to implement new programs which will promote active living and healthier lifestyles for the men, women and children of our community. I am committed to evaluating and reporting the programs we implement in our community.

By joining the Mayors Wellness Campaign, your town will receive:

- Eligibility for up to 25 Sustainable Jersey Points – Sustainable Jersey is a nonprofit organization that provides tools, training and financial incentives to support communities pursuing sustainability programs.
- An opportunity to be designated and honored as a “Healthy Town”
My goal for the Mayors Wellness Campaign is to bring opportunities for all facets of wellness to our residents. I am excited to be able to partner with so many of our outstanding community groups, both public and private, to provide programming that will enhance and improve the overall quality of life for our participants.

Through the Mayors Wellness Campaign initiative, we have implemented a number of programs to combat chronic disease, increase physical activity, enlarge health education and expand screenings for both residents and city employees. Together we can make Plainfield a healthier, smarter, safer, stronger place to live, work, and play.

Joetta Clark Diggs, Four Time Olympic Athlete
As the Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) spokeswoman, Joetta speaks at MWC events statewide, teaching lessons of health and fitness, and encouraging youth and adults alike to lead healthier lives everyday. Additionally, she accompanies MWC to the annual New Jersey State League of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City, serving as an health adviser and resource to Mayors from across the state.

Conversation of Your Life
Conversation of Your Life (COYL) is a program of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute’s Mayors Wellness Campaign. The program aims to bring advance care planning conversations to New Jersey communities. COYL is generously supported by The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey.
