Loretta Kaes, BSN, RN, BC, LNHA, CALA
In her role as the Director of Quality Improvement and Regulatory Affairs at the Health Care Association of New Jersey (HCANJ), Loretta assists members with their quality and clinical operations. Prior to joining the staff at HCANJ, Loretta spent 18 years in various capacities with Chelsea Senior Living including Vice President of Health Affairs, Regional Director of NJ Operations, and Executive Director. She has also served as the Assistant Administrator/Director of Nursing at Inglemoor Rehabilitation & Care Center in Livingston.
Loretta served as the Chair of the National Center for Assisted Living’s (NCAL) Quality Committee and she is a former Chair of HCANJ’s Best Practices Committee. Loretta holds an RN and a BSN, as well as Gerontological Nurse Certification and is a licensed nursing home administrator and certified assisted living administrator. She is a recipient of the New Jersey Association of Health Care Facilities (now HCANJ) Nurse of the Year Award and the New Jersey Office on Aging Gerontologist of the Year Award. She is a founding member and former chair of the NJ Chapter of American Assisted Living Nurses Association and now serves on its national board. In addition, she is also the founder of the East Hanover (NJ) Drug Awareness Council and has served as East Hanover’s mayor.
