Tyla Minniear
Tyla Minniear brings extensive experience in state government and health care advocacy to her role as Chief Operating Officer. Tyla engages with Quality Institute members to advance our work on safety, quality, and affordability. Members come from every corner of health care and Tyla galvanizes their expertise to drive important statewide initiatives. She also creates regular membership engagement opportunities.
In addition, Tyla oversees our external communications to inform the public and policymakers about our critical work to improve health care for every person in New Jersey. She oversees social media strategy, our bi-weekly member newsletter — and most recently led a rebranding of the organization that included the creation of a new website with improved visual storytelling.
Tyla joined the Quality Institute in 2016 after advocating for health care providers as Director of Government Relations and Policy for the New Jersey Hospital Association. She began her career in state government, working in the Governor’s Office and, later, as Chief of Staff to then-Assemblyman Troy Singleton. Tyla successfully convened people with differing views to move policies forward. She is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political Science and History.
