Simone E. Edwards, DrPH, MPH
Dr. Simone E. Edwards is a healthcare leader, health equity champion, strategist, professor, mentor, and advocate. She is currently the Director of Special Projects in the Community Health department at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, where she leads efforts in advancing health equity in maternal child health and addresses social determinants of health among the Medicaid and commercial membership.
She is a master’s level public health professor and currently sits on the board of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the Empire State Medical Association, and the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team. Dr. Edwards acquired her bachelor’s degree in biology from Stony Brook University and her Master and Doctor of Public Health degrees from New York Medical College. She received a certificate in Leadership Development to Advance Equity in Health Care from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Edwards has dedicated over 15 years in the healthcare field to advance the health and well-being of the underserved population.
