Emily Davies brings experience in public health and child welfare research to her role as Child Mental Health Fellow at the Quality Institute. She most recently served as the COVID-19 Collateral Impact Surveillance Coordinator at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she led the creation of a citywide data system to monitor the pandemic’s indirect effects on New Yorkers’ health and wellbeing. Previously, at the social policy research organization MDRC, Emily contributed to early childhood education and child welfare research, including national evaluations of home visitation and pediatric primary care programs.

Her experience also includes a summer internship with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand, and a year-long fellowship with the United Way of Greater Mercer County.

At the Quality Institute, Emily supports the Children’s Mental Health Mapping Project, contributing her expertise in research, data analysis, and cross-sector child-serving systems. She is passionate about advancing equitable access to mental health care for children and families.

Emily holds a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University, where she specialized in domestic policy with a certificate in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy, and a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University, with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights. Emily’s research has been published in peer-reviewed publications.
