Aline M. Holmes, DNP, MSN, RN
Aline M. Holmes is an experienced healthcare and nursing executive, having worked in senior leadership positions in Washington DC, Chicago and New Jersey. Her sixteen years of experience as the senior vice president, clinical affairs, at the New Jersey Hospital Association included multiple federal, state and privately funded initiatives to improve healthcare and reduce harm for the residents of New Jersey in a variety of care settings. Those initiatives included funding from CMS in reduce healthcare associated adverse events in hospitals; improving access to care, including mental health care, for military veterans; and developing the New Jersey Perinatal Collaborative, funded by CDC in 2017. She has experience both as a chief nursing officer and a chief operating officer, and co-chaired the NJ Nursing Initiative, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, for six years.
She has also taught as an associate professor at Rutgers U. School of Nursing, working with advanced practice students in areas of healthcare safety and quality, and in clinical leadership. She served on the board of the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group of NJ for ten years, and is currently on the board of PennMedicine Princeton Health, in Plainsboro. Currently, she serves on the board of the American College of Medical Quality; and is a member of the New Jersey Quality Improvement Advisory Council and the New Jersey Advisory Commission on the Status of Women.
Aline served for five years in the US Navy Nurse Corps (1968 – 1974). She received her master’s degree in nursing from Catholic University of America, and her doctorate from Rutgers University. She is a reviewer for the editorial advisory board for the American Journal of Medical Quality, and has published in the areas of healthcare quality and patient safety.
