As Director of Quality, Adelisa Perez-Hudgins uses her expertise as a Registered Nurse to lead the organization’s quality improvement work, undertaking initiatives focused on shared decision-making, mental health education and training, and statewide efforts to promote hospital and ambulatory surgery center safety and transparency. She also supports patient advocacy and policy efforts to improve equitable access to care and patient safety.

Adelisa serves on the Patient Safety Action Network’s Medical Board Roundtable, the New Jersey Action Coalition’s NAM Future of Nursing Education Workgroup, and the New Jersey Department of Health Quality Improvement Advisory Committee.

Prior to joining the Quality Institute, Adelisa worked in nursing management and as a staff nurse providing specialized care to patients with various health conditions in acute care and outpatient settings. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kean University, a Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in Nursing Leadership from Rutgers University, and Board Certification in Cardiac-Vascular Nursing. She is a Stanley S. Bergen Jr. Medal of Excellence recipient. The award celebrates exceptional scholarly achievements across the biomedical sciences.
