Join The Mental Health Association in New Jersey, in partnership with the Quality Institute, for a Virtual Youth QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Training on Thursday, February 12th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This nationally used, evidence-based program equips participants with the skills to recognize warning signs of suicide, offer hope, and connect young people to life-saving support. Knowing what to say and how to respond can save a life.
All participants receive suicide prevention materials and a certificate of completion. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper, you will learn to:
• Recognize the warning signs of suicide
• Know how to offer hope
• Know how to get help and save a life
