Please join us for our Maternity Action Plan (MAP) work session – Reform Payment Systems to Drive High Quality Holistic Maternal Infant Health Care, on Monday, February 27, 2023 10-12 pm. This session is for organizations and individuals interested in advancing the recommendations laid out in the MAP.

This session will be moderated by Linda Schwimmer, JD, Quality Institute President & CEO, and Kate Shamszad, MS, MPH, Quality Institute Director of Policy, and joined by subject matter experts:

  • Simone E. Edwards, DrPH, MPH, Director, Special Projects Community Health of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey
  • Pamela Tew, LSW, Manager, HealthySteps Sustainability, HealthySteps National Office of ZERO TO THRE
  • Greg Woods (tentative), Chief Strategy Officer, NJ Department of Medical Assistance and Health Services

During this session, we will focus on:

  • Aligning program payment with MIH quality goals to drive sustainable improvement; and
  • Scaling existing care models focused on the continuum of integrated care across the perinatal period, including the NJ FamilyCare Perinatal Episode of Care, HealthySteps, CenteringPregnancy and CenteringParenting.

Pre-readings will be distributed to participants. This session will feature examples of where MAP recommendations and concepts are being successfully implemented and how we can collectively work together.
