James Curcio is a lifelong resident of Atlantic County. Jim grew up in Hammonton, graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1978. He is a 1982 Honors Graduate of Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in History. He graduated Law School in 1985 from William & Mary in Williamsburg,Virginia where he was a member of the Law Review and recipient of the 1985 Virginia Trial Lawyers award as Outstanding Trial Advocate

In 1985, Mr.Curcio was admitted to the Bar of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and went into the private practice of Law. Jim worked for the Philadelphia Firm of Drinker, Biddle and Reath in 1984 and spent four years with Harvey, Pennington, Herting, and Rennisien before starting the firm of Curcio & Curcio at 325 Bellevue Avenue in Hammonton in 1989 where he practiced law for the next twenty-one years.

Jim was elected Atlantic County Freeholder in 1994. He was elected six times to that office and served sixteen years on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. He was a ten year member of the Freeholder Budget Committee, and chaired many other committees. He was Vice Chair for several years and was named Chairman of the Freeholder Board in 2009 and 2010.

Mr. Curcio was elected Atlantic County Surrogate in 2010 and 2015.

He resides in Hammonton with wife Jessica, and four sons (John,24; Tim,22; Danny,19 and Neil,15)
