Dapa D. Wilcox
Dapa D. Wilcox brings his talents as an expert communicator and passionate advocate of community engagement to support the work of the Quality Institute’s Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) and Conversation of Your Life (COYL) task forces. Dapa works to increase programming on the local level to improve community health by educating, engaging, and working closely with community members, volunteers, and local elected officials.
A focus on Dapa’s work at the Quality Institute is COYL, a program to help communities and families discuss end-of-life issues and document their preferences. New Jersey performs poorly on the quality of end-of-life care in comparison to almost every other state in the nation. Community education is an essential tool to improve these quality measures and ensure that people’s wishes are followed at the end of their lives.
Dapa joined the Quality Institute in 2020. Previously, he worked in health care communications and external affairs and gained experience coordinating and implementing community outreach initiatives, managing digital communications, and organizing meaningful community discussions on health care topics for CarePoint Health – MSO. He also worked previously as a Customer Relations and Office Management Intern at Hudson Physicians in Irvington, New Jersey.
Dapa graduated from Rutgers University –New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Minor in Entrepreneurship.
