Amanda Burd, MPA
Amanda Burd brings her experience driving quality and affordability initiatives on the federal level to her role as Chief of Staff. Amanda works to ensure consistent execution of all the Quality Institute’s varied and essential work, and she helps to empower stakeholders with data and information that advance high quality health care.
At the Quality Institute, Amanda works closely with the Vitale Quality Institute Health Reform Work Group, which advances policies that improve coverage, access, and affordability in New Jersey health care. Amanda also works with the New Jersey Health Information Network (NJHIN) to create value for patients and providers in the statewide interoperability network — and to improve overall public health. Another priority is driving access to women’s health care and improving maternal-child outcomes.
Amanda previously worked for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the Central Office, where she focused on programs to reduce health care spending while ensuring high quality care. She executed strategies that streamlined operations and increased productivity. Amanda received a Bachelor of Arts from The College of New Jersey with a major in Communication Studies, and a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
