“Expecting Better: A Push to Improve Maternity Care in New Jersey”

Join us for the Quality Institute’s Spring All Council Conference featuring Dr. Neel Shah, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Delivery Decisions Initiative at the Ariadne Labs for Healthy Systems Innovation. Dr. Shah is an expert in designing, testing, and spreading system interventions that improve the safety, affordability, and experience of patient care. As an obstetrician-gynecologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Shah cares for patients during critical life moments that range from surgery to primary care to childbirth. For this event, Dr. Shah will be speaking about the most common operating-room procedure in the US: Cesarean sections. Specifically, he’ll discuss why their rates vary so drastically from hospital to hospital and what can be done to curb unnecessarily high rates.

The keynote presentation will be followed by a panel discussion of our member-experts from the health insurance carrier, hospital and health system, and individual OBGYN perspectives.

This event is for Quality Institute members and invited guests only. Look for an invitation in your inbox with registration details coming soon! For information regarding membership, please contact Amanda Melillo – amelillo@njhcqi.org
