As a Council member of the Quality Institute, individuals from your organization will receive regular member-only policy updates, newsletters and invitations to our member only conferences, events, and symposiums, where your team can network with other key stakeholders in the New Jersey health care system. As a Council member, you will be solicited for policy and program development ideas to assist in shaping the initiatives of the Quality Institute.
Council members support QI programs and initiatives, including the Mayors Wellness Campaign and QI Collaborative, which fulfill the Institute’s mission of improving health care quality, increasing transparency, and reducing costs in the state of New Jersey. Council membership also supports the Quality Institute’s position as the regional leader of The Leapfrog Group and the Quality Institute’s role as the Regional Health Improvement Collaborative for New Jersey.
Members receive our bi-weekly newsletter, Symptoms & Cures, focused on New Jersey health care business and policy. Council members are invited to submit guest articles and job openings for inclusion in the newsletter. Symptoms & Cures also features interviews with members, new member announcements and articles highlighting the innovative work of our member organizations.
Council members have access to member-only webinars throughout the year, including:
- Member-only webinars from the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI)
- Regular webinars from the Garden Practice Transformation Network, the peer-based learning network supporting clinical practices throughout the transformation process from fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement.
- Additional health care focused webinars deemed valuable for QI members.
Beginning in 2017, the Quality Institute will begin hosting quarterly “Quality Breakfasts”, where members will meet to discuss current policy issues affecting health care quality and access.
Linda Schwimmer, the CEO & President of the Quality Institute, sits on the National Quality Forum’s Consensus Standards Approval Committee (CSAC) which oversees NQF’s measurement endorsement. Linda also works to identify members of the Quality Institute to nominate to serve on the many NQF workgroups that develop measures used by CMS and other programs.
Linda also serves on the NJ Department of Health Quality Improvement Advisory Committee. She works directly with Council Members to identify issues that need to be evaluated by the committee in order to improve the quality of health care in New Jersey.
Council membership benefits are extended to all employees from member organizations. Individuals may be added and removed from your membership roster throughout the year. Access to all Quality Institute conferences and events are included at no additional cost.
